I received my PhD in 2011 from the Computer Sciences Department of the University of Wisconsin – Madison, working with Professor Barton P. Miller on the Paradyn Project. My dissertation centered on the application of statistical machine learning techniques to recover provenance information from program binaries and other forms of executable code. That sounds very specialized, and it is. My interests are substantially broader, encompassing a great many topics in operating & distributed systems, which have led me to my current preoccupation.
